This week's tip covers a very simple way to optimize a block model, reducing the number of subcells in the model without reducing its adherence. The PROMOD tool can be found in all versions of the Studio Core family of software.
Optimization is achieved by combining adjacent sub cells within the same cell. The user defines the model fields that can be optimized within a specified tolerance. PROMOD also checks for inconsistencies in the block model, such as overlapping sub cells or out of bounds.
